Art Docent Program

Holy Spirit Parish School is extraordinarily proud of our Fine Arts Program. The program is run by dedicated parent volunteers who implement art education in the classroom using the Art Docent Program. The curriculum, created by a couple who were both art professors in Davis, consists of 5-7 digital classroom lessons for each grade. The curriculum introduces students to master works of art and provides students the opportunity to create a hands-on art project.
Our Fine Arts Program also consists of school-wide assemblies from local artists, performers, dance ensembles, poets, musicians and more. We also provide an annual arts scholarship to a graduating 8th grader. The Fine Arts Program receives funding through Breakfast with Santa.
Numerous studies support art education and appreciation as an important component to a well-rounded and rich educational experience. Our Fine Arts Program welcomes new volunteers! As an art docent, you give your child the opportunity to:
- Learn about famous artists
- Understand and discuss elements of fine art
- Interact with you in the classroom for up to 5-7 lessons
- Have fun!
